An Evening with the Porsche Community: The Blackbird x Auto Icons Gathering
Some Porsche moments are about high-revving drives through the Dolomites. Others are a little slower, a little more soulful - shared over good music, old friends, and the glow of city lights. That was the spirit behind our first-ever gathering at the vibrant Blackbird, a live music bar at Gillman Barracks, the contemporary arts cluster of Singapore. It’s less showroom, more community. A third space where enthusiasts, collectors, and curious newcomers could gather, connect, and simply enjoy the company of cars and people without the usual formality.
More Than Metal, More Than Machines
This wasn’t about showcasing inventory or making introductions. It was about community. A soft launch of sorts - an evening that quietly said: you belong here. Everyone invited had a connection to Auto Icons, from longtime clients and collectors to close friends and Porschefiles we've gotten to know over the years. To add to the experience, Blackbird offered an exclusive 10% off to all guests associated with Auto Icons.
“We didn’t want this to feel transactional,” said Colin Chow, founder of Auto Icons. “It’s about giving people a space where they can enjoy the culture around the cars - not just the cars themselves.”
Where Icons Stories Come Alive
As the evening unfolded, live music filled the air, adding warmth and rhythm to a cool, casual gathering. The cars that arrived told their own stories - among them, a rare Porsche 996 Turbo S Cabriolet, a razor-sharp 997 GT3, and a selection of air-cooled classics. Many of these came courtesy of our extended Porsche community, including members of Porsche Fanatics SG, a tight-knit local collective you can find on Instagram.
It wasn’t a massive turnout by design. The night was intentionally intimate, a way to test what it might look like to blend lifestyle, brand, and passion under one roof.
“Seeing everyone relaxed, not having to talk shop, just enjoying the night - that was the goal,” said a member of the Auto Icons team. “It reminded us why we do this.”
