Presenting this beautiful 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe, now available in Singapore under the Classic Car Scheme. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most recognisable and celebrated shapes in motoring history. The E-Type holds a special place in automotive culture, admired not just for its performance but for its sculptural beauty. It is often said that Enzo Ferrari once called it “the most beautiful car in the world”. Whether the quote was exact or not, the sentiment has followed the E-Type for decades because it truly looks like rolling art.

This particular car has a well-documented and charming life story. It was delivered new on 14 April 1965 to Andover Garage in Hampshire, ordered in Opalescent Golden Sand with a black interior trim. It lived in the United Kingdom for most of its life before undergoing a major restoration by one of the country’s best E-Type specialists.

From 2010 to 2012, the car was fully restored at Lanes Cars in Staffordshire. Lanes Cars is an established and respected XKE and E-Type specialist known for precise workmanship and period-correct craftsmanship. During the rebuild, the E-Type was refinished in British Racing Green, and the interior was retrimmed in a matching shade of green leather. The result is a combination that suits the car perfectly, with a rich and timeless atmosphere that emphasises the flowing curves of the Series I design.

The restoration went far deeper than cosmetics. The original 4.2-litre engine was rebuilt and upgraded with components from WinSpeed Motorsport (WSM). These upgrades include a WSM cylinder head, triple Weber carburettors, and a WSM 5-speed gearbox. Together, they create a driving experience that feels more responsive and flexible without losing the character of the classic XK inline-six.

In 2023, the car was imported into Singapore with the assistance of Auto Icons and has remained under the same ownership since its arrival. It has continued to receive regular maintenance and has kept all of the high-quality upgrades installed during its life in the United Kingdom. To ensure comfort in our climate, a modern air-conditioning kit was added after its arrival in Singapore. This enhancement makes the car far more practical to enjoy in warm and humid conditions.

Today, this E-Type feels reliable, composed, and accessibly enjoyable on Singapore roads. The blend of careful restoration, mechanical upgrades and climate-friendly improvements gives it a level of usability that is rare among classic sports cars. It feels sharp yet refined, powerful yet approachable, and it carries all the charm that has made the Series I E-Type a true automotive icon.

This 1965 example is now ready for its next owner. It is ideal for someone who appreciates history, craftsmanship and the joy of a classic that is genuinely pleasant to drive.
